Hidden Treasure in Rhode Island - Eight Areas to Search

Rhode island has hidden treasure that consists of pirate lost treasure, revolutionary war caches, and personal buried treasure. You can locate these treasures. People from all walks of life have located treasures of all kinds. However, if you want to enhance your chances of locating one, there are two things you need to do.
First, do more research. Take the information I have given to you in this article and expand your knowledge of the story. Gaspee Point - Located approximately seven miles south of Providence on the west side of Narragansett Bay. The beach in this area has been turning up small artifacts and treasures from the wreck of the British schooner Gaspee that ran aground in 1772. The Prescott Farm - Located on route 114 in Portsmouth. Built in 1710, this farm was once owned by the Overings, one of the wealthiest families in New England. The farm was also occupied by the British and General Richard Prescott. A rumor says that the General buried a large amount of gold coins somewhere on the farm. The farm was then captured in a raid by the Patriots.
Potterville Campsite - Located approximately one mile east of Potterville, on Town Farm Road. During the Revolutionary War, both the Patriots and the British
used this area as their camp. Often times, many relics, and small personal belongings can be found in these campsites. Buried caches have also been located. The reason being that the soldier wanted to protect his valuables in case of an attack. And at times, the soldier was killed, leaving the buried valuables behind.
Hog Island - Located on Conanicut Island. The famous pirate Captain William Kidd may have buried a treasure on this Island.
Pirate's Cave - Also located on Conanicut Island. Again, the pirate Captain Kidd may have buried a treasure here.
Newport Cliffs - Located south of the city of Newport. The pirate Charles Harris, remarked just before he was hanged, that he had buried a chest of treasure on the beach at the base of Newport Cliffs. In 1949, a chest of treasure was located on the beach in that area.
But before the individual who found it could get back with equipment to lift the chest, a tide came in and covered the large chest again.
Newport - Somewhere in Newport is a buried treasure worth $100,000. It was buried by the pirate Thomas Tew.
It is important that you always ask for permission when entering private property. If you are going on to State or Federal Land, in search for lost treasure, be sure to check with your State laws about any digging.
