There are three major mountain ranges of Luzon, Caraballo del Sur, Sierra Madre and Caraballo de wire. The Caraballo del Sur stretches from north to south and is the Cordillera Central and northern Cordillera. The highest peak is at the intersection of the boundaries of Abra, Ilocos Norte and Cagayan.
Sierra Madre, also known as the Pacific Coast Range, from the town of Baler, and through the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya andQuirino. The Sierra Madre is the longest continuous mountain chain in the Philippines.
The Caraballo de Baler extends from Baler, the capital of Aurora, and ends in San Bernardino Strait on the southeastern tip of Luzon. In these areas are Mayon in Albay and Bulusan Volcano in Sorsogon found.
In Luzon, the smaller mountain ranges and Zambales Tagaytay. The range starts Zambales Cape Bolinao in Pangasinan, which extends south along the coast of China and Seaends in the provinces of Bataan, Cavite and Batangas. Mount Makiling in Laguna and Taal Volcano in Batangas are in Tagaytay range.
Visayas region has a number of Panay Island stretches from north to south and separates the province of Antique Aklan, Capiz and Iloilo provinces.

The River Systems
The main river systems in Luzon are as follows;
• Rio Grande de Cagayan draining - Cagayan Valley
• Agno River - drainage of the rivers in Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan and Tarlac.
• Abra River receives - its entrances and exits of the Cordillera Lepanto, Bontoc and Abra.
• Pampanga River - in drainage valleys richNueva Ecija, Pampanga and Bulacan
The largest river system in the Philippines, Rio Grande de Mindanao. It is fed by the waters of two large lakes and drainage basin in central Mindanao.
