Castle building reached a feverish peak in Europe in the fifteenth round of the century. Of course it was a bit 'before the pilgrims make their way across the Atlantic and one might think that this means that the United States missed the whole castle building frenzy. But it did not work. There are quite a few 'beautiful and magnificent medieval castles scattered throughout North America.
During a period from the late eighteenth century to the early twentieth century, much of theWorld has gone through a period in terms of architecture, known as the Gothic Revival. This awakening has been a renewed interest in architecture and design of buildings during the Middle Ages. The focus was on the Late Period castles that was more of a mansion of a fortress.
This period was also a time of high prosperity in the United States have voted and there were many wealthy individuals and organizations, designed castles built in the neo-Gothic style.Technically, very few of these buildings are called real castles, because they are built on defense and armaments in the intellect, they were more designed as manor houses, but have entered all the wonderful and impressive architectural style that we associate with real castles . It is a national historic site and is now open for visits and is a relatively large and magnificent. Henderson Castle in Kalamazoo Michigan is another spectacular building, which also now a Bed and Breakfast.
As we travel around the continent, we finally arrived in California, which became a mecca for the money, power and construction of the castle. There aremany structures that are still used today and most famous is the Castello di Amorosa, a winery that is working.
We conclude our look at some of the castles in America in one of the most famous and rich. This is Hearst Castle in San Simeon, California.
